Glycine, L-alanyl-L-a-glutamyl-L-a-aspartyl- is a tetrapeptide, composed of four amino acids: alanine, glutamic acid, aspartic acid, and glycine. The specific sequence of these amino acids in Glycine, L-alanyl-L-a-glutamyl-L-a-aspartyl- is designed to mimic the natural peptide called epithalamin, which is found in the pineal gland. While there is some clinical evidence suggesting that Epitalon may decrease human mortality, more research is needed to fully understand its effects. Epitalon is described as a telomerase activator.
